What are "Collections" in sanctions.io?
Collections are predefined groups of related watchlists that let you screen against an entire category of lists in a single selection; no need to pick each list individually.
When you select a Collection, you're automatically screening against every list within that category, ensuring broad and complete coverage for your compliance workflow.
Available Collections
Sanctions Lists: Screens against major global sanctions regimes, including OFAC (USA), UN, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and more.
PEP Lists: Covers a comprehensive global database of Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and their relatives and close associates (RCAs).
Crime Lists: Screens against criminal watchlists, including INTERPOL Red Notices, Europol Most Wanted, and FBI Most Wanted.
High-Risk Jurisdictions: Screens against high-risk and non-cooperative jurisdictions, including FATF black and grey lists, OFAC country programs, FinCEN advisories, and EU non-cooperative jurisdiction lists.
Adverse Media: Screens against highly trusted global news sources to detect adverse media coverage associated with a subject. (availability depends on your subscription plan)
Where can I use Collections?
Collections are available across all screening methods:
- Screening Portal → Select a Collection under Advanced Search Options when running a manual single screening. The Sanctions Lists Collection is selected by default if no other selection is made.
- Batch Screening and Monitoring Portal (Template) → Use the corresponding short codes in the
data_sourcecolumn of your screening template:SANCTIONS-LISTS,PEP,CRIME,HIGH-RISK-JURISDICTIONS,ADV-MEDIA - API → Pass the collection code(s) in the
data_sourceparameter of your screening request (e.g.,"sanctions-lists,pep,crime").
What lists are included in each Collection?
Each collection maps to a specific set of watchlists. You can see exactly which lists are included by checking the Screening Collection column on our Watchlist Coverage page.
