One-Click Screening: Button Setup
Add the sanctions.io Screening button to Salesforce layout for fast, real-time compliance checks.
Overview
The sanctions.io Screening button is part of our Salesforce integration, allowing users to instantly check whether a Lead, Contact (individual), or Account (entity) has any associated screening alerts. The button can be added to the page layout for these objects, giving users quick and convenient access directly from the record view.
When the sanctions.io Screening button is clicked, users can instantly:
- Review any screening alerts linked to the selected record.
- Save relevant alert data to the system or close the window without saving.
- Receive a confirmation if no screening results are found for the record.
Benefits
- Onboarding: When a new record is created, instantly check for any sanctions alerts before proceeding with onboarding. This ensures the organization meets regulatory requirements at an early stage of the process.
- Evaluating New Sales Leads: Sales reps can perform a quick screening check on a Lead record during the qualification stage. This helps avoid investing time in leads that may be high-risk or non-compliant, allowing the team to focus on safer opportunities.
- Ad-Hoc Screening Throughout the Customer Lifecycle: As customer relationships evolve, users can perform ad-hoc checks on Contacts or Accounts. This supports continuous compliance by making it easy to re-screen entities at key lifecycle stages, such as before contract renewals, upgrades, or strategic engagements.
Best Practices and Considerations
- We recommend placing the button in a visible spot in the top menu, rather than nesting it inside the Actions dropdown, to ensure quick and easy access for users.
- Screening results are based on the organization's global settings. Only matches that meet the set confidence score threshold and are found on the selected sanctions lists will be returned.

2. From the list of objects, choose or search one of the supported types: Lead, Contact, or Account.
💡 Note: The setup steps are identical for all three objects. For this guide, we'll use Lead as the example.
3. In the object's settings (e.g., Lead), go to Page Layouts and click Edit next to the layout you want to update.
4. Go to the Mobile & Lightning Actions section to locate the sanctions.io Screening button.
5. Scroll down to find the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section within the layout editor. Add the sanctions.io Screening button by dragging it into this section. Then, click Save to apply the layout updates.
❗Placement matters: Only the first three actions will appear directly on the page. If the button is placed after the third slot, it will be hidden inside the dropdown menu.
That's it! The button is active and ready for use. Users can now click the sanctions.io Screening button directly from any Lead, Account, or Contact page layout to instantly check for any associated screening alerts.
It's fast, easy, and helps keep your compliance process on track.
