How to Find Your sanctions.io API Token and Connect It to HubSpot

Use this guide if you need to connect your sanctions.io API token to HubSpot for the first time as an existing sanctions.io user, reconnect after a token has expired or been revoked, or update your token following a rotation or account change.

New user? If you are installing sanctions.io for HubSpot for the first time and do not yet have a sanctions.io account, start here instead: Install via HubSpot App Marketplace.

Step 1 - Find your API token in sanctions.io

  1. Log in to your existing account at app.sanctions.io/login
  2. In the left-side menu, click Settings, then select the API & Webhooks tab.
  3. Under API tokens, click Create token in the top-right corner.
  4. In the Create API token dialog, enter a Name for the token. By default, the token is created for the Live environment—toggle Sandbox on if you want a token scoped to the sandbox environment instead. Then click Create token.
  5. Copy your API token. You'll use this in a later step.

Important: Sandbox tokens are available for testing and don't count against your plan quota — but they only work against sample data we provide, not your live records. Use a Production token for any real screening.

Step 2 - Connect Your API Token in HubSpot

  1. In HubSpot, go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Locate the sanctions.io integration and click Connect
  3. Paste your Production API token into the field provided
  4. Click anywhere on the App Card to validate the token, then click Connect

Your sanctions.io account name will appear next to your HubSpot portal ID, confirming the connection is active.
